How many video game addicts live in your house? These days, for most part, chances are there is at least one. As the mother of a teenage son, and the wife of a long time gamer, not to mention being partial to the occasional game of Sonic myself, the high cost of video gaming was a major issue in our household.

It would be nice to get Call of Duty Modern Warfare 2 and Sonic Unleashed on the first day they hit the stores, but at about $60 a piece, who can afford to in this day and age?

Then there was the other problem. I would pay $60 for the latest “hot “game, only for the guys to beat it in two days and push it to side, forgotten, while they went seeking the game that was “hot” now. Even if you trade them in at the local game store you are lucky if you get $20 in return, even for the latest titles.

Renting video games has become popular at video stores. I tried that. The prices were high, as much as $5 for just a two day rental of the latest title. If it was a tougher game, or particularly entertaining, there was no way it was going back to the store in 2 days without a fight. Not to mention the choice at the local store was very limited.

Just as I was about to ban the PS3 from the house and hide the Wii in the attic, I found a solution. One of the bored kids in the video store told me about Gamefly and the free trial.

Gamefly is an online video game service that ships video games to your home, just like those DVD movie services. Since there was a good trial offer, I decided we could give it a go. The Gamefly Free Trial lets you test the service and its products without making a big commitment.

After signing up, we had to make our Game Q, a list of games that we wanted to play, ordered by preference. The nice surprise came when not only could you get the newest, hottest games, but you could also pre order coming releases, so you could have them the first day they hit the shelves. After the Gamefly Free Trial ended I was pleased to find that the subscription prices were less per month than I had been paying for two video store game rentals.

Gamefly ships the games very quickly, and you can keep them as long as you like. If you really like a certain game, you usually have the option to purchase your rented copy at a very discounted price.

Finding the Gamefly Free Trial has solved the problem of games lying forgotten around the house. As soon as one is beaten it goes back, and the next hot game arrives in the mail about two days later. Gamefly certainly solved most of our video gaming conflicts.

Why not try the Gamefly Free Trial for yourself, and make the most of your gaming experience?
